Prayer for Humanity

Shack a shell-shock and set a deadlock free

from a dead man walking through society

Let the moonshine freely So the good girl taste

What the poor man’s buying From the rich man’s waste.

Let the price be weary Of the cost She paid

And let his head fall deerly In the bled he made.

Listen to the rhythm learn the rhythm of the game

Be guided by the innocent from innocence we came.

Beat an out-mate and set an inmate free

from a time entangled in hypocrisy

Let the color palate fade So the black man sees

What the brown girl stomachs From the white man’s greed

Let the law be leery Of a crime by name

But let a name be burdened by its weight in shame.

Listen to the rhythm learn the rhythm by its name.

Be guided by the innocent from innocence we came.

Hear a heartbeat and let the silence fade

on a scar still bleeding from a cry in vain

Let the faith flow freely So the lines we made

In the sand be buried By the games we played

Let truth hold water So the thirsty bathe

But let the bath be shallow If its just to save.

Listen to the rhythm learn the rhythm of the pain

Be guided by the innocent from innocence we came.

Hold a hand up And help a blind man see

what she can’t imagine if they can’t be free

Let the powder be pure So the sinner be clean

But if the dirt is poor Then let the earth grow lean

Let our breath be heavy So the love we make

Satisfy the hunger of a righteous sake

Listen to the rhythm let the rhythm lead the way

Be guided by the innocent from innocence we came.

Tell a story straight but let the truth be gay

For if God is Love, then for love we pray.

Let the mighty be high So to see the grave

Let the privilege be vision So thyself they save

Let the paper feed mouths-Let the mouths speak free

-Let the free be guided By the light to see

Listen to the rhythm it’s within us everyday

Be guided by your innocence from innocent you came.
