Why are you standing there
you tethered bear
just staring back at me?
Your tethered hair
so patchy there
that I can barely see,
the teddy bear
they made with care
then packaged carefully,
sitting there
still wrapped with care
you waited patiently.
Caged up there
for all to stare
he chose you carefully.
You were his teddy bear
once made with care
but made to bear his needs.
Made to bear
his lack of care
His lack of decency.
Made too bare
He left you there
so tethered at the seams.
Why are you standing there
you tethered bear
just staring back at me?
Brush your hair
and don’t despair
you won’t be bearing me.
I’m not a tethered bear
with weathered hair
not ripping though it seems,
I’m just another bear
too worn to care
that now I’m finally free.
